The purpose of the Wildlife Habitat Evaluation of the Canoe River in Norton is to provide the Town of Norton with a tool for obtaining grant funding to purchase land along the Canoe River as part of the Canoe River Aquifer Advisory Committee’s (CRAAC) Greenbelt project. A secondary objective is to provide information that will be useful during permit review to encourage cluster development and conservation restrictions for projects within the proposed Greenbelt area. A third objective is to provide residents with educational opportunities to learn about local ecosystems.
